Social Media Promotion

If Social Media is about networking and developing relationships, how can we spend more time doing this, than trying to figure out how we are going to sell to the next person..
Social media is basically a word of mouth platform. For example I worked at a place or industry that if you wanted anyone to know what you are doing and tell one person and within 24 hrs everyone would know..Teenagers call this gossiping.

My challenge was to change the negativity to something more positive, so what I did is - I couldn't stop them from gossiping, but what I could do what ask them to catch someone doing something good and talk about that It was amazing, the older people thought this was a great idea..and soon the younger people started to adapt to it, because it became a feel good!

The other thing, that was interesting is that my staff, board members would come to me and and say "So and so said...my response what I didn't want to hear the negative gossip about the exercise. They were shocked, in thinking I would intervene. When they realized that I wasn't giving any attention to the negativity, then people were becoming more cooperative and happier.

So, why can't we do the same on the social media networks? Brag about someone, promote them, give a hand up rather than thinking I've got to get something from someone 1st? It's like one large gossip platform, isn't this what Viral Marketing is?

Since I like doing promotions and connecting people, I have started promoting Artists on Fridays..the people I have been networking with on and offline if introduce them on my blog. Every 2 or 3 days I introduce someone I network with. I know a lot of people and of course in between I post an article about Social Media Marketing.

I challenge you to start a Feed Good Campaign, for your Social Media Marketing program. We'll all be better for it!
